South Pennine Boat Club

2020 Floods

Once again SPBC has suffered flood damage. On Sunday 9th February, Battyeford saw a new flood level record. The flood barriers kept out much of the water, but there was ingress through the brickwork and the drains. Electrical pillars were isolated, but water has entered the electronics.

Thankfully, due to the rise and fall poles and the vigilance of a few stalwart members, all the boats at the club have now settled safely back on the moorings.

We are drying out and assessing the damage and will be holding events in March as planned.

A BIG THANK YOU TO ALL MEMBERS WHO HAVE HELPED!
