Non-tidal Levels
Non-tidal gauges measure height from a fixed point on or near the river bed. Chart Datum at North Muskham and Naburn provide an indication of the water levels on the non-tidal River Trent & Yorkshire Ouse. "Colour Coding" of heights above and below the normal level are "advisory" indications intended for low power vessels and inexperienced skippers.

Tidal Levels
Tidal gauges measure height from sea level. Monitoring stations are shown in blue at all levels, along with an indication of the approximate level above Chart Datum and the rise & fall trend at each location.
