A work party usually takes place on the first full weekend of the month. Occasionally these are moved e.g for New Year, Easter, the Rally. NB May 2017 work party will be held on 29/30th April 2017
Please come along and lend a hand as we can only keep fees low by everyone participating and helping out with chores. A jobs list is sent by email to all SPBC recipients a few days before the event.
Work usually starts about 10am. Tea and coffee is provided FOC and on Saturday, a lunch is often provided at a nominal charge.
There is nearly always a social get-together on the Saturday evening of the work party. This may be an organised event or a Free'n'Easy night where folk just gather for a drink and a natter.
We hope you can join us at the next work party weekend.
April Fools Party
See Handspike for details.
The list is now closed. Please contact Avril Davies or Diane Sykes directly if you wish to attend.
Committee meetings are held in the clubhouse on the Sunday of the work party at 2pm. Observers are welcome. An agenda for the meeting and the unratified minutes from the previous meeting are available to download from the website. (Downloads - Meetings).
There will be a Regatta meeting at 10.30 am to discuss the Club Open Day. Please come along and help us in the planning.
Cruise up the Huddersfield Broad canal this Easter with your fellow SPBC friends. Anyone without a boat is welcome to join us for either the cruise up and/or the social on the Saturday night.
There is plenty to do in Huddersfield come rain or shine: Shopping, pubs and restaurants, ten-pin bowling or cinema and lovely walks.
If you have a preference or suggestion for a social on the Saturday night please see Sally or Email firstname.lastname@example.org. Table-Table is the nearest resturant.
The Odeon cineama in a mile away at the Stadium complex. It has 9 screens so there should be something for everyone including 'Fast & Furious 8'. There is a pub next door serving food and costa coffee bar.
Please put your name on the board if you would like to join us either with or without a boat.
Darts knockout finals
Please play your matches up to and including the quarter finals before Easter. The semi-final and the final match will then be played on 29th April ('May' work party Saturday - brought forward due to the Regatta!)
Social meeting to detail events for the Autumn programme. All welcome - please come along.
OUSE CRUISE ?
A few people have expressed an interest in cruising the tidal Ouse up to York. If you haven't done it before and would like to go with some experienced boaters then this is a great opportunity.
Dates to be confirmed, but we are looking to set off just after the rally. There is a low spring tide from Selby on Friday 12th May, which might be suitable and a neep the following Friday for a gentle return trip.
